Appreciate this post. Especially the Carver example. The other story, for me, was too elliptical and atmospheric. What work did the couple do besides try to one-up each other with past trauma? But my quibble with that story doesn't take away from the excellence of this post and the commentary on "Popular Mechanics." Thank you.
